QomQem Coastal Connections is a grassroots Indigenous-led outreach program that
developed in partnership with Peers Victoria Resources Society. We offer harm reduction
and health care services to Indigenous peoples who are unhoused, precariously housed, and
who may be using substances and/or alcohol. This position is posted for 35 hours per week.
The rate of pay for the housing coordinator position is $33 per hour. Shifts will generally be
Monday-Friday with the possibility of some weekend shifts. The position is funded by Reaching
Homes until March 31, 2025 with the possibility of funding renewal. This position is focused
on supporting Indigenous folks who are unhoused or precariously housed to obtain and
maintain housing as well as support with basic needs and eviction prevention.

Peers is hiring! Crisis Response and Violence Prevention Support Worker 

Peers Victoria is a multi-service grassroots agency that has been working with and for Victoria sex workers for almost 30 years. Through direct service delivery and partnerships, Peers provides outreach, harm reduction, and wellness support services. We maintain a welcoming and accessible service environment that promotes the empowerment of current and former sex workers. 

Reporting to the Crisis Response and Violence Prevention Coordinator and the Program Manager, the Crisis Prevention and Response Worker assists with bad date and aggressor reporting at Peers, including: providing information to people who have experienced violence, assisting with communicating with the Victoria Police Liaison and supporting clients when needed, and assisting with training and workshops for multiple audiences on preventing and responding to sexualized violence. This position is currently funded by Sexual Assault Services Canada, Community Action Initiative and Civil Forfeiture until March 31, 2025 (with the possibility of funding renewal).

Peers is hiring! SACRED Support Worker

Sacred is a group made up of Indigenous folks that currently or formerly worked in the sex trade. They meet monthly to connect and share experiences as Indigenous sex workers and to draw strength from culture and community. This position will focus on providing support services to Sacred group members and the Sacred Coordinator by helping to plan monthly meetings and connect with Sacred members throughout the month. This position is also meant to support the overall functioning of Sacred and to support Sacred in its goal to build Indigenous leadership. The Sacred Support Worker will report to the Indigenous Programs Director at Peers Victoria and will work with the Sacred Coordinator. Overall, this position is posted for 10 hours per week at $30 per hour. Sacred meetings are once a month, on the second Friday of each month. Housing Overdose Prevention and Peer Services – Manager

With funding from Island Health, Peers Victoria operates three (3) HOPPS Teams in supportive housing locations. It is expected that the HOPPS Teams will continue to evolve given the need to engage in a continuous quality improvement process to ensure these services are provided in a way that minimizes harms related to substance use. As some Sites are temporary, the site assignments and hours of service may change in conversation with the funder, housing operator and other stakeholders. In addition, contract changes are anticipated for June 2025, as
such this is a temporary position until May 31st 2025 and will be dependent on funding and contract changes as of June 2025.

Night Outreach Worker – Casual Position

Reporting to the Manager of Programs, the Night Outreach Worker is skilled in harm reduction delivery models, familiar with local health and community social support services, and is knowledgeable about street-based sex work/trade. Night Outreach Workers work  collaboratively with team members to provide ethical, peer-based, responsive support that is informed by the needs of the participants.
Services are currently provided 4 hours an evening, 7 days a week, on stroll in our outreach vehicle.
